Capri is a rocky island in the Tyhhrenian Sea, located near Naples and Sorrento and not far away from the ancient Pompeii and the magnificent Vesuvius. The nature of Capri is a combination between thick greenery, low mountains and sea views with beautiful bays and rock formations. In the past the island was inhabited by Greeks and Romans and that is the reason why Capri has many traditions and plenty of cultural landmarks. One of the main attractions there is the Blue Grotto, in Italian – Grotta Azzurra. This is a beautiful cave, which was used as a bath by the Romans. It is situated on the seashore and its bottom is beneath the water. The cave is decorated with statues and the turquoise water is reflecting in them, which make the scene spectacular.
You have two options – to love or to hate Capri, but surely you can’t be indifferent to it. If the perfect vacation for you includes nature wonders and combination between exotics and ancient ruins this is the right place to go. Yes, this is not the ideal destination for sunbathing, but everything else will make you forget that lack.
