The ski resort Borovets is situated in Rila mountain at 1300 m. above sea level just near the highest peak on the Balkans – Musala. The resort is located 10 km away from Samokov, 70 km away from Sofia and 120 km away from Plovdiv.
Borovets offers to its visitors 58 km long ski runs with four levels of difficulty. This makes it perfect for beginners and professionals. The all 24 marked ski runs are great for ski and snowboarding and there are one cabin lift, four chairlifts and seven drag lifts.

2. Pamporovo
Pamporovo is situated in a nice region of Rhodope mountain near many other great places to visit such as the natural phenomenon Wondreful Bridges, Kaleto fortress, Momchilova fortress, Snezhanka tower, Orpheus rocks, etc.
The ski resort offers 37 km long ski runs with different level of difficulty. It is located at 1650 m altitude, around 220 km from Sofia and 85 km from Plovdiv. The ski season usually lasts from mid-December to April.
3. Bansko
You can enjoy 70 km long ski runs in Bansko and more than 27 km lift facilities. The ski resort is the home of many European and world ski and snowboard competitions.
Bansko is situated in Pirin mountain at 2000-2500 m above sea level. It is not only a ski resort but a perfect combination of the modern ski life and the traditional Bulgarian culture. The town is 160 km away from the capital Sofia and is very well connected.
The old part of Bansko is popular with its Revival architecture and cobbled streets. All of that make the atmosphere pretty traditional. The resort is a great place for a ski holiday in Bulgaria.
4. Dobrinshte
This one is a ski complex with only 1 main ski run which is 6 km long. But what makes Dobrinishte special is the combination of ski with spa treatment. 5. Vitosha
Vitosha is only 10 km away from the capital Sofia and is perfect for combining your ski holiday in Bulgaria with a city break and sightseeing. The ski runs in Vitosha mountain are just 29 km long but the proximity to the big city makes it a popular place for skiing and snowboarding. The ski runs are 14 in two ski centers and are located between 1500 and 2290 m altitude.
