Gran Canaria is the most populated from all of the seven islands, which are part of the Canary Islands. It is situated at distance of about 200 km from the north-west African coast. Some people call Gran Canaria “a small continent”, because it is a mixture of different natural forms. The north part is very windy, so it is covered with lots of greenness. The situation is totally opposite in the south part – the air is very dry and the greenery is almost missing.

Gran Canaria has a long history and it is hiding in every small village around.

That “small continent” also offers lots of opportunities for relax. If you go there you will have the chance to practice lots of water sports. Except swimming you will surely must try diving – maybe the most preferred activity there. You will be guide by a professional trainer and with his help you will be able to explore the underwater world.

If you are not that type of person, after drinking a cocktail on the beach, you can go to one of the bars there and spend your time watching flamenco dances. If you are an admirer of the cultural tourism, you have a lot to see in Gran Canaria. There is situated Columbus’ home – Casa de Colon, which is opened for visitors. You can also walk along the yacht harbor Puerto Morgan and visit the cathedral St. Anna.
