Lonely Planet recently presented its long awaited annual ranking of the best places in the world to travel in 2016. The top three hottest destinations from the key categories are very undiscovered places but surprisingly interesting.

But enough said. We decided to show you in depth the top places in the world to travel in 2016 and here they are:

Top city: Kotor

Kotor is a beautiful coastal town in Montenegro on the Mediterranean sea. In Kotor you can find one of the best preserved old towns in Europe which is also a part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. The old port is surrounded by Venetian fortifications.

The Bay of Kotor offers one of the most spectacular coastal views. The combination of Medieval architecture, cultural heritage sites and picturesque landscapes make Kotor appealing destination for every travel enthusiast.
